Billie Eilish has spoken openly about her pop peers' success and acknowledged the “crazy” situation they now find themselves in.

In a recent interview with the L.A. TimesThe “Birds Of A Feather” singer, along with her brother and colleague Finneas, were asked if they felt threatened by the recent successes of Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter.

“Are you kidding me?” she replied. “I’m so happy for these dogs. It's a crazy world when you get to the level they're experiencing right now and they're doing great. Fans are drawn to them because they’re fucking awesome.”

All three were praised by Jack Antonoff for their work this year. He said that “Brat Summer” should be renamed “Artist Development Summer” after their respective fan bases seemed to grow overnight after years of working on their material.

As Eilish dealt with sudden fame, she recalled a time early in her career when a TSA officer took a photo of her at the airport and said, “I thought, this is what my life is going to be like.”

“I will never go outside again and I will never feel human again. Every room will say, ‘That’s Billie Eilish!’ and that’s going to make me want to kill myself at some point.”

Roan's similar feelings about fame have repeatedly made headlines this year. She recently compared him to “an abusive ex-husband” and revealed that she had been diagnosed with “severe depression,” which she blamed on her rapid rise.

She previously took to TikTok to share her thoughts on “weird” and “creepy” followers and denounce the “predatory behavior” of so-called “superfans,” which includes “non-consensual physical and social interactions.”

While there was significant backlash on social media, several artists came to Roan's defense, including Eilish and Carpenter, as well as Katy Perry, MUNA, Miley Cyrus and boygenius.

When asked if she had heard Roan's comments, Eilish was sympathetic, saying, “It's hard out here, man, it's hard.”

The singer has also stated that she wants to talk about her sexuality “never, ever, ever again” after this diversity She appeared to have outed her in an interview last year, which became a big story. “I also underestimate that the things I say are blown up into the biggest news stories in the world,” she said. “This is so unnatural.”

Elsewhere, Carpenter revealed that Taylor Swift had given her advice on dealing with fame and pressure: “You find the people you surround yourself with that make you feel safe, and then you move on.”

Meanwhile, XCX, who teamed up with Eilish on “Guess” earlier this year, hosted an intimate listening party in New York on Thursday (October 10) to celebrate new remix album Brat And it's Completely Different But Also Still Brat.
