Earlier this year, Lana Del Rey announced her 10th studio album, Lasso, which she said will mark her entry into country music alongside her frequent collaborator, producer and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff and the Country musician Luke Laird is produced.

Now Jack Antonoff has confirmed that he was in the studio with Del Rey to work on the record, although he isn't interested in revealing any information about their collaboration. In a new interview with TIMEHe said, “A story for another time.” The reason I don’t talk about things until they’re out is very succinct: I want music to be the first entry point for people.”

He continued, explaining: “I don’t want to deprive anyone of the experience of hearing it without context. Once you start talking about the work ahead, you plant those seeds in people’s minds.”

Lana Del Rey and Jack Antonoff have worked together extensively since 2019, first on “Normal Fucking Rockwell” before reuniting in 2021 on “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” and again last year on “Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.” '.

As for the teasers for “Lasso,” Lana Del Rey recently teamed up with rapper Quavo to release “Tough” in early July. It's currently unclear if “Tough” will be featured on Lana's “Lasso” or if it will be part of a larger Quavo project. Lana later revealed that more singles will be released soon: “There will be two more coming out by the end of the year!”

Most recently in August, the singer-songwriter teased that the sound of the upcoming album wouldn't deviate too far from her previous releases: “All my albums are kind of rooted in Americana, unless it's an album like 'Honeymoon' that's one Jazz has flair, so I don’t think it will be a difficult farewell.”

She continued, explaining, “If anything, lyrically it will be a little lighter and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production – which, again, so many of my songs already are.”

Although the album doesn't have a release date yet, the singer has spoken to it NME's Andrew Trendell in May to briefly talk about the record. Although she didn't reveal much about the album, Lana hinted that the album's lyrics might be lighter than her more recent releases.

“Maybe I have less to say about the obvious things, like 'Tunnel' or 'Blue Bannisters' or 'Chemtrails Over The Country Club', but am just more melodic. Maybe more American songbook style?”

She also commented on a possible sense of vindication surrounding the new project. “Three years ago there might have been a sense of vindication, but now it just feels playful. I don’t know why,” she explained, referring to her recent successes. “If you keep going long enough, it just feels easy. There's no justification, no nothing – I'm just kind of happy to be here. It’s loose that way.”
