Grab a box of Kleenex. You'll need it for this week's episode of Dancing with the Stars.

And not just because another couple was eliminated.

Participants dedicated their numbers on Tuesday night to people who have had a big impact on their lives. Some chose family members, a former soccer player chose his late coach and an Olympian honored her team.

But the other Swifties have to up the ante after “The Bachelorette” Jenn Tran’s engagement.

Tran, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, decided to dedicate her dance this week, a foxtrot, to Taylor Swift. Tran and her professional dance partner Sasha Farber performed it to Swift's song “The Archer.”

“Their music took me to a different place when I was at my lowest,” Tran said on the show.

Tran's parents had a “volatile” relationship, she said. She has spoken openly and vulnerably about this throughout her time on The Bachelorette. While she felt scared and alone, Tran said, she felt like she had to put on a brave face.

Swift's music helped Tran realize “that there is so much power in being vulnerable” and allowing others to “see yourself for who you really are.”

“It's really difficult to balance dancing and being emotional,” Tran said. “But I'm grateful that Taylor Swift's music was able to help me bare my soul in this dance because it's my heart on the dance floor.”

After Tran and Farber's performance, judge Derek Hough said, “Jenn, that was beautiful… I just see how you keep improving. It’s so graceful out there.”

While her arms and hands are better, he said, her shoulders and turns still need some work.

“I love how wild you are and how you throw your body into it,” said guest judge Mark Ballas, a former “DWTS” pro who won the Mirrorball Trophy three times.

Although he would have liked a gentler dance, he noticed that Tran was improving every week.

Judge Bruno Tonioli called the dance a “well-chosen Swiftie routine” and added that Tran moved like a “Swift in the air.” Although she lost her figure at times, she did great, he said.

“What I love most about you when you dance is how much you trust the process,” said Judge Carrie Ann Inaba. “You give it your all. You’re not afraid to fall or be loose.”

But now that Inaba is so deep into the competition, she wants Tran to step up and take more control of her moves.

Inaba had a warning for Farber. She said she might call for elevators again, but said she wouldn't pull the trigger this time. Tran seemed pretty confused, which co-host Julianne Hough noted.

Tran and Farber received a score of 32 out of 40, with all four judges giving them eight marks. This put them in fourth place on the night, tied with four other duos.

Julianne asked Tran, “If (Taylor Swift) were here tonight, what would you want to say to her?”

“Just thank you so much for making not only me feel less alone, but everyone else in the world,” Tran said. “She’s a lyrical genius and her music – being able to get into someone’s soul when they’re in that dark place and bring you out of it – it’s such a gift.”

The evening was full of moving moments, none greater than when Derek's wife, dancer Hayley Erbert Hough, returned to the dance floor with her husband less than a year after her near death and miraculous journey to recovery.

Here's more on that, as well as a look at the other stars' performances and who was eliminated at the end of the episode:

Derek Hough, Hayley Erbert Hough in emotional dance

In a package that aired in this week's episode, Derek opened up about his wife Hayley, who had a near-death experience after suffering a severe brain hemorrhage last winter. Doctors weren't sure if she would be “the same person” after what she had been through, or if she would ever be able to walk again.

Not only would she learn to walk again, but she would also triumphantly return to the ballroom to dance on Tuesday's “DWTS.”

Hayley and her husband performed a majestic and moving number to “Beautiful Things (Acoustic)” by Benson Boone. When the refrain rang out: “Don’t take these beautiful things that I have” – goosebumps. We assume that there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

“Obviously, physically and mentally, this was the most challenging thing I've been through in my entire life,” Hayley said on the show. “It took a toll on all of us as a family. You never know what you're capable of until you go through something like this. So I'm really proud of myself. I'm proud of my body the way I've managed it.”

“We are all so proud of you,” said Julianne, Derek’s sister and Hayley’s sister-in-law.

Live voting was combined with the jury's results to determine who would be eliminated, explained co-host Alfonso Ribeiro.

Brooks Nader was axed at the end of Tuesday night's episode.

When Nader's name was called, shock flashed across her face. She said she had joked with her partner earlier about being sent home and thought she might have expressed it by mistake.
