Jenna Fischer has sworn Office co-star Angela Kinsey to secrecy about her cancer diagnosis

Jenna Fischer reveals that her “Office” co-star and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey was her confidant during her secret battle with breast cancer.

Fischer, 50, held back tears as she talked about her special friendship over her cancer journey in an interview with “Today” host Hoda Kotb that aired Monday.

The actress – who famously played Pam Beesly on The Office – broke her silence about her diagnosis earlier this month, revealing that she began her private battle with cancer last year. After a series of treatments, Fischer proudly announced that she was now cancer-free.

While the star hid her diagnosis from the world for a year, she revealed her health issue with Kinsey and made her promise to keep it to herself.

“From the beginning, she said, ‘Whatever you need. Tell me I'm here.' And I said, “I want to keep working, and I don't want anyone at work to know.” At work, I want it to be a space where we go and laugh, and I'm not a cancer patient. I need that.' And she said, 'Okay,'” Fischer told Kotb of her conversation with Kinsey.

She also shared that Kinsey — known for her role as Angela Martin on “The Office” — didn't let her down when her physical appearance began to change due to treatment.

“And when I started losing my hair, I wore my hats in such a way that my hair fell out. We called them 'wig hats,'” Fischer said. “And she started wearing hats to work so I wouldn’t be the only person in a work meeting wearing a hat.”

When Kotb commented, “That's love,” Fischer held back tears and replied, “Yes – and it was incredible.”

However, Kinsey wasn't the only celebrity Fischer confided in about her diagnosis.

The actress also told Kobt that she called Christina Applegate, who also had breast cancer, after learning the news.

“I called her and she answered the phone and said, 'Which one is this?' And I said, 'It's breast cancer.' And she said, 'I fucking knew it,'” she recalled of her conversation during the interview with Kobt – who had also beaten breast cancer.

“She’s salty. This is salty language. I love her for that,” Fischer joked.

“The Office” star opened up about her journey in an Instagram post on October 8 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Last December I was diagnosed with stage 1 triple positive breast cancer. After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I am now cancer free,” she shared in part.

Fischer praised Kinsey in her announcement, telling her followers, “With this news, I wanted a photo of me in my spotty pixie looking happy and healthy.” A big thank you to Angela Kinsey's husband Josh Snyder for taking this photo. This is just one example of the care they have shown me on this journey.”

Kinsey responded to her co-star's post, writing, “I love you and I'm so glad you're sharing. I always have your back.”

Fischer is married to her husband, director Lee Kirk, whom she married in 2010. The couple has two children: son Weston Lee and daughter Harper Marie.
