Jets fans buried kicker Greg Zuerlein on social media after he missed two crucial field goal opportunities against the Bills on Monday night.

In a hard-fought showdown at MetLife, Zuerlein had not one, but two chances to break the 20-20 deadlock.

Late in the third quarter, the kicker hit the upright on a 32-yard attempt. He got another chance from 43 yards early in the fourth, but smashed the woodwork again – infuriating fans as the Bills secured a 23-20 victory.

“I will NEVER forgive Greg Zuerlein for his performance tonight,” one fan wrote.

“We would be 4-2 if Greg Zuerlein was a better kicker,” added a second.

“The first game under a new regime wasn’t terrible. You can’t coach or uncoach these penalties, man, that’s fucking sloppy.” a third complained.

“The NYJ needs to clean the hell up and tell Zuerlein to tighten the fuck up, that’s TWO GAMES that his footballer could have decided.”

A fourth added that “Greg Zuerlein should be canceled tonight,” while a fifth added: “What if Greg Zuerlein is an absolute bum?”

Zürlein made two of his four shots for eight points before exiting when his shoe mattered most. The stats put him at 6-8 this season.

In a 10-9 loss to the Broncos in September, Zuerlein was cited for missing a 50-yarder during a 3-4 performance.

Their third straight loss dropped the Jets to 2-4 this season. Before Monday, they suffered two straight losses to Denver in Minnesota.

The Jets opened their season with a loss to San Francisco, followed by two wins over Tennessee and New England. They will look to get back to the win column when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers and take on the Patriots on the road on October 20th and 27th, respectively.

They close out the month on the 31st when they host the Texans at MetLife Stadium.
