JJ Jones honors Tylee Craft during the UNC football program's game against Georgia Tech

This year's cancer awareness game definitely has more meaning for the UNC football program.

Since March 2022, Tylee Craft has been battling stage four lung cancer. Although his battle was challenging, Craft never lost his love for the UNC football program as he participated in the program as much as possible.

Recently, Craft was hospitalized as he continues his fight. While the UNC football program would have loved to have him there Saturday afternoon, senior wide receiver JJ Jones made sure Craft's name was seen throughout the game.

As the UNC football program's social media team posted, Jones will wear Craft's jersey during the Tar Heels' contest against Georgia Tech. Not only will Jones wear number 13, but the last name “Craft” will also appear on the jersey.

Things like this show you how much these student-athletes truly care about each other.

As we honor those battling cancer (and those who have unfortunately already lost their battle), the UNC football program is once again showing their commitment to Tylee Craft as he continues to fight every day.
