Warning: This article contains spoilers for Dancing with the stars Season 33, Episode 4, “Hair Metal Night.”

Are you ready to rock all night and party every day? Ready or not, the Dancing with the stars The participants jam, jive and foxtrot at full speed.

Last night we saw the stars partying and partying to funky tunes Soul train. Tonight, Gene Simmons took to the judges' table to encourage the stars to “release the Kraken” and channel their inner rockstar for Hair Metal Night.

NFL star Danny Amendola began the show with a powerful paso doble to “Livin' on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. The judges liked the way he approached the dance, but Bruno Tonioli wants to see improvement, saying: “You have the power, I want the finesse.”

Model Brooks Nader and pro Gleb Savchenko were visibly excited about their results after performing a sizzling but simple rumba last night. Tonight they took to the dance floor with a content-packed cha-cha-cha, determined to wow the judges. One judge in particular may have gotten a little too excited when Simmons put in a nine when scoring the exercise, but tried to change it to a 10 when he showed his paddle. But producers said the nine was the final result, which still contributed to the couple's highest score to date at 33 out of 40.

DWTS is all about growth and learning in the ballroom, especially for the athletes. The hard work definitely paid off tonight for Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, who took the judges' criticisms of his previous dance, a quickstep, and implemented them into his heavy metal foxtrot. His timing and body improved – and so did his scoring, as he shot 32 out of 40. The same was true for NBA star Dwight Howard, who, with his well-received Paso, realized that practice almost makes perfect.

But not every result can rise, as two surprise upsets shocked viewers in the ballroom and at home. Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher danced a jive to Quiet Riot's “Cum On Feel the Noize,” and while the passion was there, the steps weren't there. Her mistakes on the dance floor led to an emotional, tearful moment, but the judges assured her she'll be back next week better than ever.

And Disney star Chandler Kinney, who tops the leaderboard every week, had her No. 1 title snatched away when former Bachelor Joey Graziadei pulled out his drum kit and crazy wig for a tango that earned him four nines from the judges brought in.

Rock 'n' roll may live in all of us, but in the end Eric Roberts and Reginald VelJohnson had to make rock 'n' roll at home.
