Jack Ponti, a renowned musician and music manager, has died at the age of 66.

On the official X, formerly Twitter account of the podcast franchise BonJoviTalk, they announced:

“Jack Ponti has unfortunately passed away at the age of 66. Jack was the guy who brought Jon into the band The Rest and went on to be a songwriter and producer for many other rock bands after that band folded. “Shot Through the Heart” from the album “Bon Jovi” was also co-written with Jack Ponti!”

As a songwriter, manager, label manager, record producer and consultant, he began his career in the late 1970s as a guitarist in the New Jersey band The Rest alongside the young Jon Bon Jovi.

In the '80s and '90s, Ponti amassed numerous hits to his name by writing and co-writing them for high-profile artists such as: Shot through the heart by Bon Jovi Someone is waiting from Keel, Sweet obsession by Bonfire, Alice Cooper's Hey Stoopid, Love's A Loaded Gun and Doros Enough for you, bad blood, last day of my life, ceremony And My heart stirs in freedom as well as many other songs.

Jack Ponti is mourned by his wife Tatyana, daughter Neva, granddaughter Jordyn and sister Nikki and is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Dorothy Pontoriero and many beloved dogs.
