Josh Allen's second-half performance against the Titans keeps him on the MVP track

Josh Allen's second-half performance against the Titans keeps him on the MVP track

It was a boring first half for the Buffalo Bills. However, they have proven that it doesn't matter how you start, only how you finish. The Bills were down 10-0 almost halfway through the second quarter and it seemed like they would have to answer to Tennessee's defense. Additionally, Buffalo's defense didn't seem to have adjusted to Mason Rudolph.

At one point it looked as if the Titans would pull off the surprise against the Bills. Josh Allen was just 4/11 for 65 yards at one point and was passed by Rudolph. But in the second half, Josh Allen activated and the Bills showed the Titans overall why they are a 1-4 team.

Allen led the Bills to 34 unanswered points and the Bills' offense exploded in the second half. He himself went from looking like he was going to be a minor-league quarterback this week to throwing for 323 yards and two touchdowns, one of which went to his newest receiver, Amari Cooper. He also ended up completing 64% of his passes.

This was Allen's first game in which he threw for over 300 yards, and it came early in Week 7 against one of the NFL's best defensive units. This was the first game this year where the rushing attack wasn't a big help. The Bills only rushed for 74 yards, but since the Bills managed to get the ball through the air, there was no need to force the run.

Allen has slowly started to turn things around for the better after a two-week stretch in which he looked terrible against the Ravens and Texans. Since then, he has performed extremely impressively against two top defensive units in the Jets and Titans.

He was a real Superman in this game and his second half performance gave the Bills not only a win, but a blowout victory. Buffalo is 5-2 on the year and will hit the road again next week to travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
