Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton delight MLB fans as Yankees win against Guardians in ALCS G4 | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

After another back-and-forth battle in the 2024 American League Championship Series, the New York Yankees emerged victorious.

The Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians on Friday night by a final score of 8-6, taking a 3-1 series lead and securing a World Series victory.

New York had an early advantage when Juan Soto launched a two-run home run early in the first inning.

The Yankees held a 3-2 lead through five innings before Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run blast to left field. Stanton now has four home runs in eight postseason games this year.

Similar to Game 3, Cleveland battled back. The Guardians cut the deficit to 6-5 thanks to RBI doubles from José Ramírez and Josh Naylor. Then David Fry evened the contest with a one-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Yankees jumped back on top in the next frame when Jon Berti scored on an error on an infield groundball by Brayan Rocchio. Gleyber Torres gave New York assurance with his own RBI single off Emmanuel Clase before Tommy Kahnle secured the save in the bottom of the ninth.

Fans were impressed with the Yankees' performance as well as home runs from Stanton and Soto.
