Kalen DeBoer talks about a conversation with Jalen Milroe after the interception in the first quarter against Tennessee

Until the first quarter of Third Saturday in October Matchup between Alabama And TennesseeThe quarterback play was up and down for both teams. But Jalen Milroe had one of the more costly plays with an interception on the goal line and Kalen DeBoer addressed the conversation between the two.

Milroe's pass was intercepted in the end zone by Jermod McCoy as Alabama attempted to score the game's first touchdown. It was the Alabama QB's fifth interception of the season and the game remained scoreless.

DeBoer's message, however, was simple. He wanted Milroe to keep playing his game and focus on the task at hand instead of worrying too much about the interception.

“Exactly the things we always talk about as far as ball placement, decision making and things like that,” DeBoer told ABC Molly McGrath. “We just have to keep playing ball, keep playing ball. Each piece is its own piece.”

It's safe to say Milroe responded well. He found it Ryan Williams for a five-yard touchdown early in the second quarter, giving Alabama a 7-0 lead over Tennessee at Neyland Stadium.

The Alabama-Tennessee rivalry is one of the most famous rivalries in the SEC. An interesting game is shaping up between two teams looking to continue to bounce back from surprising losses two weeks ago and ESPN Kirk Herbstreit pointed out how even both teams are. However, he gave the Vols the edge.

“I think we’re all kind of flipping a coin,” Herbstreit said on SportsCenter before College GameDay. “You just don’t know what to expect in Tennessee. Playing at home is always a big advantage for them, but Nico (Iamaleava) wasn't able to push the ball downfield, and that's exactly what Josh Heupel's offense is based on. Dylan SampsonHe has the physicality you know you're going to get, but teams don't have to play against him. You can play a two-high safety look that prevents those vertical shots and forces Tennessee to be consistent and play 12 plays, 13 plays.

“This is what you want to see. If you're a Tennessee fan, you need to see this. And I'm sure they'll try to create encounters with some movement, but that's what's been missing. And with Alabama, it's so hard to figure out after the last three games they've played. That’s why I give Tennessee the advantage, especially because the game is in Knoxville and in such a difficult environment.”
