Kamala dances as Trump longs for the old Biden

Saturday Night LiveThe show's 50th season premiere featured Maya Rudolph reprising her role as “fun aunt” Kamala Harris. This time she's hosting a fun campaign rally as Donald Trump and JD Vance try not to bore viewers at their campaign rally.

Rudolph, whose portrayal of Harris was announced in July, first played her five years ago when the then-California senator was seeking the Democratic nomination. The following year, she returned to the late-night show as Biden's running mate.

Now Rudolph has his own vice president: Tim Walz, portrayed by comedian Jim Gaffigan.

“Guys, I haven't been this excited since I got a ten percent discount on a leaf blower from Menard's!” the Midwesterner told the crowd.

“This is personal for me,” he later added. “I love this country. And as a former teacher, I need the money.”

After being pushed off the stage, Rudolph introduced her husband, Doug Emhoff. Former SNL Actor Andy Samberg took on this role and introduced himself as a “second gentleman”.

Meanwhile, at the Trump rally – in its third hour – the former president (James Austin Johnson) spent his time worrying that his supporters would get up and leave the venue.

“Where the hell is everyone going?” Where are you going? I see you trying to leave but the doors are locked!” he said as the shot cut to Rudolph dancing behind the podium.

In a pained voice, he then expressed how much he missed President Joe Biden.

“What we wouldn't give for him to stand next to me and be old!” he shouted, lamenting that his re-election chances had diminished and repeating the debunked idea that pets are eaten by immigrants.

To explain this conspiracy, Trump welcomed JD Vance (Bowen Yang), who in real life spread lies about it even though he knew there was no evidence to support his claims.

“I’m sure you’ve all heard what the liberal media has said about me. I'm a weirdo. I'm a weirdo. “What the fuck am I doing here?” he said, a reference to Radiohead’s “Creep.”

“I'll tell you what I'm doing here: getting this audience hyped!” he said as a person sitting behind him got up and left.

After the feed cut from the GOP rally as Vance began explaining Project 2025, the unpopular right-wing agenda that Trump has tried to distance himself from despite his many ties to it, Rudolph — still dancing — saluted President Joe Biden the stage. played by Dana Carvey.

On trend

Rudolph also ended his comments early after struggling to put a sentence together. She then concluded the skit with a promise to voters.

“If we win,” she said, “we can end the dramala and the traumala together and relax in our pajamalas.”
