Kobe Prentice Injury Update: Latest on Alabama WR's status vs. South Carolina

Alabama And South Carolina are expected to face each other as both look to bounce back from last week's disappointing losses. And for the Crimson Tide, wide receiver status Kobe Prentice stands out big.

According to the SEC injury report released on game day, Kobe Prentice will not play against the Gamecocks. He was excluded.

Furthermore, co-recipient Kendrick Law was listed as a game-time decision.

At the beginning of the week coach Kalen DeBoer had have provided an update on bothseemingly hopeful that both would be available this weekend. That obviously won't be the case now.

“They’re both out here practicing,” DeBoer said. “On the right track as we had envisioned and making progress heading into the weekend. I wouldn't say they're fully up and running yet, but they've reached the pace we were hoping for. So put in a bit of work, a bit of individual work and also a bit of team work. Things are progressing and they are doing a good job.”

In addition to the loss of Kobe Prentice and the last-minute decision of linebacker Kendrick Law Yhonzae Pierre will miss the competition.

“Yes, Yhonzae will not be with us this weekend just because of his injury,” DeBoer said. “I’m glad you brought this up. I didn't mention that, in fact I didn't know exactly where it was until yesterday afternoon. I expect him to be out this weekend. But after that we’ll kind of see.”
