Korn's 30th anniversary concert on Saturday night was a major celebration of the nu-metal giants

Over the weekend, nu-metal titans Korn celebrated a major milestone with tens of thousands of their fans in Los Angeles at their highly anticipated 30th anniversary show at BMO Stadium. Announced back in March, the show was a celebratory evening for the band, who played a career-spanning setlist and featured special guests Evanescence, Gojira, Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway, Spiritbox and Vended.

It was an evening of great significance for Jonathan Davis and the boys, with the frontman expressing at several points his love for everyone in attendance, as well as all the fans around the world and the people who have made their careers possible .

As for the show itself, they even released some debut tour songs, including songs like “Coming Undone,” “Somebody Someone,” and “Helmet in the Bush.” For the final track, it was the first time since 2015 that they played the song from their debut album. At the end of the evening, Evanescense's Amy Lee joined the band on stage to perform “Freak On A Leash”, which was certainly a hit. All the older millennials in the audience were thrilled.

A really cool example of younger acts paying tribute to an influential band like Korn occurred backstage when Tetrarch lead guitarist Diamond Rowe presented Brian “Head” Welch with their signature guitar, which was released not too long ago. During their interaction, Rowe thanked Welch for inspiring her throughout the years, which she detailed in an Instagram post.

“Ever since I was a kid, watching Head on stage and listening to every Korn record, I felt a sense of belonging and confidence that nothing else had. I felt like I was part of something magical – and that feeling was too strong to be a coincidence.

“This weekend I was able to say thank you, not just with words, but also with the gift I had hoped to give since childhood – my own signature guitar – three days after it was released.

“It was just meant to be.

“NEVER STOP DREAMING. Life can take you on a wild ride, and moments like these always remind me why giving up was never an option. My dreams aren't just dreams anymore.”
