Lady Gaga shares details about Michael Polansky's proposal

Lady Gaga talks about her recent marriage proposal.

At an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, Joker: Folie à Deux star shared details of the day Michael proposed to Polansky. The singer explained that the entrepreneur and tech investor proposed to her right after her birthday.

“He proposed to me right after my birthday, so my birthday came around and I was like, 'Oh, I thought he was going to propose to me,'” she told Kimmel.

However, a surprise awaited Gaga when they went on a rock climbing trip. “We went on a trip together and went rock climbing, and we've rock climbed before, which was super fun,” she explained.

When Kimmel asked if she usually went rock climbing, Gaga joked, “I do now. I would do anything for love.”

Gaga further recalled: “We climbed to the top, looked around and took some photos. And then we went back downstairs and we just went back into the room and talked. And he actually asked me – it was very Michael – if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was okay to propose before he proposed. And I thought, 'Yeah, it's so okay!'”

After Kimmel asked why Polansky didn't propose while they were up on the rock, Gaga remarked, “I think it was smart.” It was safe. He had the ring in his backpack, so it was super cute.”

Despite her suggestion, Gaga admitted that Polansky didn't get down on one knee, but she was fine with it: “He didn't, but I'm a modern lady. I like what he did.”

As for wedding plans, Gaga shared that she's been thinking about keeping things quiet between each other and going to the courthouse.

“We actually talk a lot about just going to a courthouse as a couple and ordering Chinese food,” she said, adding, “But as I know, it could also turn into a circus with unicorns.”

Accordingly, Gaga and Polansky were first romantically linked to each other in 2020 People Magazine. They made their relationship public while in Miami for the 2020 Super Bowl. Gaga shared a photo on Instagram of the time they cuddled on a yacht, writing, “We had so much fun in Miami.”

Polansky leads Facebook co-founder Sean Parker's various charities and companies.
