Full time: Wolves 1-2 Manchester City

Incredible VAR drama (Varma?) at Molineux as John Stones heads a last-minute winner… only for Stuart Attwell to send the referee to the monitor. But after a quick look, Chris Kavanagh stands by his decision! With Daniel Harris you can clear it all up.

Reece James captains Chelsea in his first appearance since May; He moves in as a right-back with Malo Gusto on the left and covers for the suspended Marc Cucurella. Wesley Fofana is also out after his fifth yellow card, Tosin Adarabioyo comes in, while Roméo Lavia replaces Enzo Fernández in midfield.

Three changes for Liverpool: Andy Robertson replaces Tsimikas and Dominik Szoboszlai replaces Alexis Mac Allister. This could mean that Curtis Jones moves back alongside Ryan Gravenberch in midfield. Caoimhin Kelleher replaces the injured Alisson in goal.

As it stands, Liverpool will start the game as league leaders – because after Arsenal lost at Bournemouth, Manchester City are struggling at Molineux, where the score is 1-1 with around 15 minutes left to play. Follow this with Daniel Harris:

preamble

Arne Slot and Enzo Maresca, two unassuming, gentle and fashionably bald training managers, both entered warmed Premier League pitches at the start of this season. Slot arrived from Feyenoord with the unenviable task of replacing one of Liverpool's greatest and most popular managers; Maresca, on the other hand, took a bench that no one particularly wanted or could hope to stay there for long.

The first signs are positive for both newcomers. Liverpool have barely let up, winning six of their first seven league games as they have adopted a more measured style under Slot. When Chelsea decided to ditch Mauricio Pochettino and bring in Maresca, it looked like they were doomed to another restart – but the Italian has already put together an exciting, young starting XI that is exceeding initial expectations.

That brings us to today's showdown at Anfield. This facility brought little joy to visitors during the Jürgen years. Seven different Chelsea managers met Klopp at his home stadium in the league; The only one who has achieved a victory is now the England manager. Liverpool go into the race as favorites and a win would cement their status as genuine title contenders.

On the other hand, if Chelsea can rewrite recent history and win here, they would move a point behind Liverpool, who are suddenly back in the title race themselves after years of turmoil. An exciting competition awaits, starting at 4:30pm BST (yes, still BST). Let's go!
