Marvin Harrison Jr. clears protocol to play against the Chargers

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will play Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers after clearing the NFL's concussion protocol, coach Jonathan Gannon said Saturday.

Harrison participated fully in Friday's practice after being limited while wearing a yellow non-contact jersey on Thursday, Arizona's first practice of the week.

Gannon said Harrison had had a good week of training and was “ready to go.”

Harrison conceded Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers in the second quarter after his head hit linebacker Isaiah McDuffie's thigh with 6:28 left in the half. Harrison was helped off the field by Cardinals trainers and left the field after being examined in the blue injury tent and was escorted to the locker room by a team of trainers and doctors.

He left shortly after the start of the second half.
