BALTIMORE — Jackets will be required for mornings this week, but afternoons will be sunny and warm through Wednesday.

After a spectacular Sunday with lots of sunshine and high temperatures in the 70s, a clear and calm evening awaits us. With a moonlit and starlit sky, temperatures drop to over 50°C at 9 p.m. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30s to mid to upper 40s.

The Orionid meteor shower is expected to be most visible after midnight into the early morning hours. At its peak, you can see 10 to 20 meteors per hour. The best chance of seeing meteors is away from city lights. Give your eyes about an hour to adjust to the night sky.

Monday and Tuesday will be very similar weather days. We have 100% sunshine on both days. The early morning hours will be cool with clear skies and temperatures in the 40s. It will be much warmer in the afternoon, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80°. A west-northwest wind will be 5 to 10 mph Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, a south-southeast wind will be 5 to 10 miles per hour.

A cold front will move through the area late Wednesday and into Wednesday night. Ahead of the cold front, we will see partly to mostly sunny skies on Wednesday. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s. On Wednesday afternoon, winds will be slightly gusty from the south-southwest at 10 miles per hour. Behind the cold front, temperatures will drop to above 40 and below 50 degrees on Wednesday evening.

The rest of next week into next weekend looks partly to mostly sunny, dry and seasonably mild. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.

A very early look at Halloween shows a relatively encouraging forecast. With mostly clear skies, temperatures for trick-or-treaters should be in the low to mid 60s. It's still very early so keep checking this weather forecast, but at this early date the weather is looking good!

Drought conditions continue to worsen and spread across the state with our continued drought. The last time we saw measurable rain in Baltimore was October 2, 2024. There are no signs of measurable rain for the rest of the month, so hopefully there will be some rain again in November.
