“Miami Dolphins make roster changes”

The Miami Dolphins announced that they have activated a cornerback Cam Smith removed from the injured reserve list and placed as a wide receiver Braxton Berrios on the injured reserve list.

Blacksmith appeared in 15 games with the Dolphins in 2023 and recorded two tackles (one solo). He was selected by Miami in the second round (51st overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft out of South Carolina, where he was a four-year letterman (2019-22) and two-year starter. He played in 33 games with 19 starts for the Gamecocks and was selected second-team All-SEC in 2021 and 2022. He led the team with 14 passes defensed in 2021 seasons (2020-22).

Berrios is a seven-year NFL veteran and has played in 87 games with six starts with the NY Jets (2019-22) and Miami (2023-24). He also spent time with New England in 2018. Berrios has recorded 134 receptions for 1,323 yards (9.9 average) and six touchdowns in his career, as well as 97 punt returns for 1,105 yards (11.4 average) and 88 kickoff returns for 2,184 yards (24.8 average) and one touchdown . He also rushed for 171 yards on 20 carries (8.6 average) and four touchdowns. Berrios played at the University of Miami and was selected in the sixth round (210th overall) by New England in the 2018 NFL Draft.
