Michael Saylor's Bitcoin crash course

Michael Saylor posted a tweet encouraging investors to take part in his BTC crash course, available via the attached link. Saylor stated that this course includes a detailed discussion of MicroStrategy's Bitcoin business model.

According to Saylor, “the growth opportunities for $MSTR as a leading public issuer of Bitcoin-backed securities” will also be discussed.

The crash course consists of two sections – one is a transcript of Saylor's conversation about Bitcoin with MicroStrategy managing director and senior analyst Gautam Chhugani. The second section consists of a series of slides with infographics and short theses about Bitcoin, its high performance over the last 14 years and the performance of other, conventional assets in the market.

Saylor explained that Bitcoin has been the most profitable asset in 11 of the past 14 years and that with its 49% growth since 2011, it is far outpacing monetary inflation, while some other assets are doing the same but posting a much smaller increase – Nasdaq ( 17.9% increase), US Growth Fund (15.4% growth) and US Large Caps (SPY) with an increase of 13.3%. The increase in the latter corresponds exactly to the level of monetary inflation.

Saylor warns investors about fraud

In the preface to the crash course on the page that contains the links to the above sections, Michael Saylor warned readers that “many cryptocurrency gift scams are fraudulently carried out in the names of reputable companies or well-known personalities.” He stated that he does not sponsor or conduct any crypto giveaways.

He explained that he would never ask the community to send him cryptocurrencies so that they could then receive them back from him. Saylor recommended users educate themselves on how to spot crypto scams: “I encourage all people to educate themselves about cryptocurrency scams and how to identify them.”

However, in the past, scammers have often used fragments of Saylor's videos talking about Bitcoin to lure cryptocurrency users into scams on YouTube.
