The first trailer for Netflix The electrical statIt's outside where, in an alternate version of the 1990s, the world has been plunged into a post-apocalyptic state after a failed robot uprising. The Electric State is based on the 2018 graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stålenhag.

Millie Bobby Brown plays Michelle, an orphaned teenager who sets out to find her brother. She is joined by a smiley-faced robot and the smuggler Keats (Chris Pratt), as well as his own robot. The trailer previews a wasteland populated with robots ranging in size from tiny to building-sized. Together they cross a land known as the Exclusion Zone, where the robots have been sent to live in exile.

The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo – collectively known as the Russo Brothers – who are known for directing several recent films Captain America And avenger Films. They are joined on the project by screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, another duo known for their work in the MCU.

Rounding out the main cast are Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander and Woody Norman, as well as Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci. Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo and Alan Tudyk voice the robots.
