The 2024 MLB postseason continues with the start of the best-of-five Division Series on Saturday. Three of the wild-card round series ended in 2-0 victories, with the Tigers, Royals and Padres having two days off to set their lineups and rotations for the next round, while the Mets needed three games to knock off the Brewers.

Game 1 on Saturday will be played in Cleveland and New York (AL) and Philadelphia and Los Angeles (NL). Both National League Division Series play Game 2 on Sunday, while both American League Division Series continue with Game 2 on Monday.   • Lane Thomas opened the game with a home run

    Reese Olson's first pitch of the game was thrown over the left field wall, giving Cleveland a 5-0 lead.

    There were still no outs in the bottom of the first inning.

  • Tyler Holton's day is over after 20 pitches

    Reese Olson will be the starting pitcher for the Tigers.

  • The Guardians go 2-0 on consecutive batters

    José Ramírez, who was on the verge of a strikeout on the previous pitch, hit a bouncer that caused problems for Zach McKinstry at third base and Kwan scored.

    The next batter, Josh Naylor, put a point between first and second base to score David Fry, making it 2-0 Cleveland.

  • Steven Kwan belts a leadoff double

    Tyler Holton's third pitch of the game almost ended up for a home run when Kwan was inches away from leading off.

  • Bibee gets out of trouble

    Bibee had to work in the first inning, but the Tigers put two runners out when Colt Keith flied out to left field.

    Steven Kwan, David Fry and José Ramírez will compete for the Guardians.
