The National League Division Series heads south to San Diego after the Padres and Dodgers split the first two games in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers won Game 1 on Saturday, but the Padres bounced back with a commanding victory on Sunday that included some ugly scenes with fans in Los Angeles throwing things onto the field.

“If I were the baseball commissioner, I wouldn't even allow them to play Game 5,” Padres reliever Jeremiah Estrada told reporters Monday, describing the beer cans, bottles and baseballs thrown onto the field and in the bullpen. I mean, why? Why would you test that again?”

Walker Buehler takes over as the starting reliever for the Dodgers' Game 3 on Tuesday night, while Michael King takes over the win for the Padres. King pitched seven scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts in the first game of San Diego's wild-card series against Atlanta.

Mookie Betts got the party started in Game 3 with a solo home run off Padres starter Michael King in the top of the first inning – just off the glove of Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar.

Betts was in a postseason slump, batting .068 (3 for 44) in his last 12 playoff games dating back to the 2021 NLCS.

It was almost a carbon copy of a much-discussed play from Game 2, but Profar jumped into the stands to rob Betts of a home run and took time to celebrate in front of the fans.

First pitch at Petco Park is scheduled for Tuesday at 9:08 p.m. ET.
