Mostly sunny over the weekend, with a chance of showers on Monday

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Mostly dry weather will prevail over the weekend as the chance of rain has decreased on Saturday morning.

• Patchy fog may occur in some areas overnight into Friday morning. A pleasant day with above-average temperatures is expected afterwards.

• Rain showers will attempt to move in late Friday night and into the overnight hours, ending before sunrise Saturday. The amounts will be very small.

• Temperatures on Saturday will feel more like late September or early October. This will be similar to Friday.

• Sunday looks nice and pleasant throughout the day, with a chance of a few showers overnight.

• A cold front will approach the region Sunday night into Monday morning. It will trigger scattered showers that will last until the morning rush. After that it will be drier and windier for the rest of the day.

• Tuesday will be partly cloudy and windy at times, but dry and cool. Temperatures will be below average for both high and low temperatures for the remainder of the work week.

• TROPICS: There are three systems monitored by the National Hurricane Center.

• Located in the central Atlantic, Kirk is expected to move northwest in the open waters and be a major hurricane. It poses no threat to land masses but could cause some wave activity in Bermuda through the weekend.

• Tropical Depression 13 recently strengthened into Tropical Storm Leslie and could become a hurricane by Friday evening. It is expected to migrate through the open waters of the central Atlantic and pose no threat to landmasses.

• The third disturbance is in the western Caribbean Sea and has a 0-30% chance of developing over the next two to seven days as it moves northwest into the Gulf of Mexico.

SATURDAY: Pre-dawn showers will ease, followed by mostly sunny skies and a mild temperature trend. Highs: low to mid 70s. Lows: upper 40s to lower 50s.
