MSNBC's Rachel Maddow drops her new claim about Trump and Stormy Daniels 20 days before the election

Donald Trump's legal team tried to convince Stormy Daniels to sign a new nondisclosure agreement, according to a report dropped by Rachel Maddow just 20 days before the election.

The liberal pundit appeared on MSNBC colleague Chris Hayes' show Wednesday night and aired a recording of a conversation between Daniels and her attorney, Clark Brewster.

“They want to make a deal where they silence you,” Brewster says. “There's no way, no damn way. 'I can't let that happen.'

The discussion relates to negotiations between the two sides over hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees that Daniels owed Trump after her 2018 defamation lawsuit against him failed.

Although Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, makes enough money through a Gofundme page to pay legal fees, his lawyers are said to have suggested lowering the amount owed in exchange for a new non-disclosure agreement.

“During these negotiations to repay the last legal settlement between them, Trump is attempting to enter into another hush money deal with Stormy Daniels before this election,” Maddow said, citing the porn star's lawyers.

Just 20 days before the 2024 election, Rachel Maddow dropped the bombshell news that Donald Trump's lawyers were trying to reach a new nondisclosure agreement with Stormy Daniels

Maddow believes Trump “again demanded that Stormy Daniels sign an agreement not to talk about him and offered to take thousands of dollars off her bill if she did.”

She also produced an email purportedly between Trump lawyer Harry J. Ross and Brewster.

“We do not believe that a payment of $600,000 would fully satisfy the three judgments.” “However, we can agree to settle this matter for $600,000, provided your client agrees in writing “not to make any public or private statements,” the email said.

According to the emails, they eventually agreed to a slightly higher deal without signing any agreement.

IIn response to the claims, the Trump campaign told Maddow: “These alleged documents were obtained as part of an illegal foreign hacking attack against President Trump and his team.”

“We are working with authorities to determine the legal consequences for those who are likely to commit federal crimes by publishing and using stolen materials from … opponents of the terrorist regime.” Ms. Daniels has been held accountable for supporting President Trump more when she had to pay the money she owed him because of her wrongdoings.

Maddow insists that the emails between Daniels' lawyers and Trump representatives came directly from Daniels himself.

The Manhattan district attorney's office, which prosecuted Trump over the hush money payment to Daniels, did not comment on Maddow's findings.

This comes months after Trump was convicted on all 34 counts in his blockbuster hush money trial and a Manhattan jury found him guilty of falsifying business records.

The lawsuit came about in April 2018 after Daniels posted a sketch of a man who she said threatened her in Las Vegas in 2011.

Daniels attempted to appeal the decision in 2022, saying her attorney, Michael Avenatti, filed the lawsuit “without my permission and against my will.”

A judge ruled against her and made her pay Trump's gigantic legal fees in connection with the case.

According to her, he told her to “leave Trump alone.”

This alleged threat would have come years after Daniels claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2006.

Trump responded on Twitter, calling her claims a “total fraud.”

Weeks after tweeting that rebuke, Daniels sued him in federal court.

In October 2018, U.S. District Judge S. James Otero dismissed the lawsuit, saying Trump's tweet amounted to a “hyperbolic statement.”

Otero also said Trump's statement was protected by the First Amendment.

She also claimed that the Trump defense team showed her address to the entire courtroom while she was testifying in the case.

In her testimony as the prosecution's key witness, she described the lurid details of their alleged 2006 hotel encounter, including mentions of condoms, butt spankings and missionary sex.

She also told the court that Michael Cohen, Trump's former “fixer,” gave her $130,000 to keep her quiet about the alleged affair that took place while Melania Trump was pregnant with their son Baron .

Daniels claims she met Trump in 2006 at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Trump has denied the affair dozens of times.
