NBA News: Mavericks teammate Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson are out for the start of the season due to injury

The Dallas Mavericks are not just striving to get back into the spotlight N.B.Abut they also want to win the championship that eluded them in last year's final against the Boston Celtics. But even before the start of the season Luka Doncic And Klay Thompson will be without a key player for at least the next three months.

While preseason games are underway, the Jason Kidd-led team will be without one player for at least the first part of the season as he undergoes wrist surgery.

The player is none other than guard Dante Exum, who will be sidelined for several games. This was confirmed by NBA insider Shams Charania via his X account: “Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum is expected to miss three months after undergoing right wrist surgery, sources tell ESPN. Early loss extended in Mavericks backfield.”

With this news confirmed, the Mavs will be missing a key player in the backcourt, at least to start the season. However, Kidd still has crucial players in his squad, which includes Doncic and Thompson as well as the talented Kyrie Irving.

Next week, Doncic and his teammates have two tough matchups that are perfect for this type of preparation: the first is on October 14th against the Los Angeles Clippers, followed by their final preseason game on October 17th against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Dallas Mavericks' official debut will take place on October 24th in their home arena where they will face none other than the San Antonio Spurs in what promises to be an exciting duel between the two teams.
