Nebraska football is 28-7, trailing 16th-ranked Indiana

If Nebraska wants to get its first win over a ranked opponent since 2016, it will need a big second half.

No. 16 Indiana leads 28-7 at halftime. The Hoosiers scored right from the start and never let up.

IU didn't punt once in the first two quarters. The Hoosiers were stopped deep in Nebraska territory on a fourth down, marking one of the few wins for the Blackshirts in the first 30 minutes.

After not giving up a rushing touchdown in six games, Indiana scored three points in the first half against Nebraska.

Nebraska's first touch set the tone for a first half filled with anxiety. With a 7-0 lead, Jacory Barney Jr. caught the Hoosier kickoff at the 1-yard line, went out of bounds, and set up the Big Red 99 yards to paydirt. Seven plays later, new Blackshirt Brian Buschini launched his first punt of the day. Indiana returned it 20 yards into Nebraska territory.

The Huskers' only touchdown came on a Barney run in the second quarter, with tight end Thomas Fidone leading the way on the outside.

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola finished the half 14-for-21 passing for 104 yards. NU totaled just 29 yards on the ground.

Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke is 17 of 20 for 189 yards and a touchdown. The Hoosiers totaled 154 rushing yards, led by Justice Ellison's 90 yards and two scores.

The Huskers will have the ball to open the second half.
