New York Liberty Hosts Ticker Tape Parade in NYC – NBC New York

The New York Liberty will be celebrated with a ticker parade at the Canyon of Heroes in New York City after winning their first-ever WNBA championship, Mayor Eric Adams announced Sunday evening.

Details of the date, time and route of the parade are expected to be announced on Monday.

“From the beginning of the season to the very last game, the New York Liberty were focused on one goal: victory. Tonight they achieved a historic victory – and made our great city proud by becoming champions for the first time in franchise history,” Adams said in a statement. “At a time when the rest of the country is finally recognizing the endless talent in our WNBA, we are proud to see New York City bring home the trophy. Thank you to our WNBA champions for being a role model for our city and demonstrating the values ​​of courage, determination and hard work. Now we can’t wait to celebrate off the field and give you the parade through the Canyon of Heroes you deserve!”

In addition, on Monday evening, five buildings in the city will be illuminated with sea foam in honor of freedom.

The New York City buildings that will be lit with seafoam on Monday evening are:

  • New York City Hall: City Hall Park, New York, NY 10007
  • Brooklyn Borough Hall: 209 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
  • The David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building: 1 Center Street, New York, NY 10007
  • Queens Borough Hall: 120-55 Queens Blvd, Kew Gardens, NY 11424
  • Staten Island Borough Hall: 10 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301
