NFL Insider's Suggestion About Maxx Crosby, Raiders “Turmoil” Flops, He Admits It

NFL Insider's Suggestion About Maxx Crosby, Raiders “Turmoil” Flops, He Admits It

An NFL insider gave a gut feeling “revelation” about the turmoil reportedly troubling the Raiders organization and star edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

Unfortunately, the reporter who made sensational headlines about the Raiders had to eat crow.

Former NFL executive and reporter Michael Lombardi was on Pat McAfee's show this week and responded to his previous statements about the Raiders and Crosby.

Crosby missed the Week 4 game due to an injury, and Lombardi thought he smelled blood in the water and claimed that Crosby missed the game due to internal conflicts within the team.

Of course, there is ongoing drama surrounding Raiders fullback Davante Adams, whose name continues to make headlines in early-season trade news.

But throwing the injured Crosby into this mess to get clicks was a bad decision, and the former GM had to answer for his mistakes.

Lombardi admitted he was wrong after Crosby made not-so-subtle digs at reporters who were running around with misinformation.

“Let me address the elephant in the room: He’s right, I was wrong,” Lombardi said on the McAfee show.

“I thought he had a hamstring injury and he was right to take me to task because I was wrong. He didn't deserve to be on the sidelines.

Imagine being in Crosby's shoes. He is out due to injury and is then accused of causing unrest in his team.

The Raiders and Crosby were never on the verge of mutiny, contrary to Lombardi's earlier claims.

Lombardi continued: “When you criticize people and you are right, the only way you are valid is to admit when you are wrong. That's what I do. They comment on football. I'm not saying everything is great. I When I criticize, I am making an opinion. But if I’m wrong, I have no problem standing up to it, Pat.”

Crosby, a three-time Pro Bowler who shoulders a heavy workload for the Raiders' defensive line, signed a four-year, $98.98 million contract extension in 2022.

Lombardi has made some cold predictions in the past, including a 2023 prediction that the Arizona Cardinals would move on from quarterback Kyler Murray to create a culture change. Murray is still playing for Arizona a year later.

Justice was served.
