NYT “Connections” October 11: Answers and clues for game #488

The popular word-based game was created by The New York Times released in June 2023 and is now the second most played game on the release Wordle.

Connections Developer and crossword editor at the New York TimesWyna Liu, recently spoke with Newsweek about the popularity of the game.

“The response has been truly incredible, overwhelming and unexpected,” she said of the global following. “It’s exciting that something that’s very close to my heart is resonating with people.”

How to play “Connections.”

At the beginning of each Connections In the game, players are given a set of 16 words. These words, which are in grid format, need to be divided into four groups of four based on common characteristics and categorized.

The difficulty of these categories ranges from yellow to green to blue to purple, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the most difficult.

For example, Thursday's game linked the words “bad,” “fly,” “sick” and “rad” to the category “Cool, in 80s slang.” This was a green category.

If you feel stuck, there is a “Shuffle” button that shuffles the words to give you a new perspective.

There is no time limit for the game, although users are only allowed four guesses before the correct answers are revealed – so choose your guesses carefully.
