Official lineups of the Nations League on matchday 3

Italy will start with Sandro Tonali, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Mateo Retegui in the Nations League showdown against Belgium, which relies on Charles De Ketelaere, Lois Openda and Leandro Trossard.

It starts at 7.45pm UK time (6.45pm GMT) at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The Azzurri are top of the group after a 3-1 win in France and a 2-1 away win against Israel, three points clear of Les Bleus and the Red Devils.

Riccardo Calafiori returns from injury to the now consolidated 3-5-2 formation, with Pellegrini chosen to support current Serie A capocannoniere Retegui.

Tonali, Davide Frattesi and Manchester City transfer target Samuele Ricci are in midfield, while Nicolò Barella, Marco Brescianini, Moise Kean, Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini, among others, are unavailable.

Belgium are also missing some stars with Kevin de Bruyne, Amadou Onana and Romelu Lukaku out of action. The latter wants to be left out in order to get back to full fitness at Napoli.

Trossard, Atalanta star Charles De Ketelaere and Jeremy Doku are supporting RB Leipzig striker Openda as they appear to be relying on a three-man defense.

It is a special game for coach Domenico Tedesco, who was born in Italy and moved to Germany as a baby.

As well as losing their last three meetings with the Azzurri, Belgium have not won a competitive match since May 1972, drawing one and losing four.
