Ohio State's most important position will be put to the ultimate test against Oregon: Halftime thoughts from Stephen Means

Ohio State's most important position will be put to the ultimate test against Oregon: Halftime thoughts from Stephen Means

EUGENE, Ore. – Justin Frye spent fall camp claiming he wanted Ohio State's offensive line to get to a point where he has eight or nine players he can rely on, and now we'll see how that's running.

Austin Siereveld had already emerged as a prime option at defenseman thanks to his replacement for Donovan Jackson in the first two weeks. That's why he was ready to do it again when Tegra Tshabola was forced out in the first half against Oregon. But the second-year lineman had played so well that filling in wouldn't be a problem. Instead, one might even ask if he should just be a starter.

The biggest question heading into fall camp was tackling. The starting tandem of Josh Simmons and Josh Fryar was quality, but behind them were two unproven guys in Zen Michalski and George Fitzpatrick who didn't give you much reason for optimism.
