Ole Miss Football releases Magnolia Bowl hype video with announcer Eli Manning

What constitutes a rivalry? That was the question addressed in the Ole Miss Rebels' hype video this week before their matchup against LSU.

Eli Manning is no stranger to rivalries. During his time as the Rebels' quarterback, he saw numerous appearances against teams like LSU and Mississippi State, and when he moved to the NFL with the New York Giants, he became accustomed to facing the Dallas Cowboys and other divisional opponents.

Manning returned to his Rebel roots this week when he narrated the team's hype video before the annual Magnolia Bowl against the Tigers. You can watch the video below.

Manning highlighted some of the “big names” and “bigger moments” that have made this a historic rivalry, and he was a part of some of those games during his time at Oxford. The Rebels defeated LSU at Tiger Stadium in 2001 before the Tigers won the SEC Championship later that year. Ole Miss also fell short against LSU in Manning's senior year, a loss that prevented the Rebels from reaching the SEC Championship game.

“It’s time for a new chapter in a storied game,” Manning said in the video. “These moments are why you came here.”

There's a lot at stake in this year's Magnolia Bowl. The winner of the game still feels pretty positive about their chances of securing a spot in the College Football Playoff, while the loser is coming off their second loss of the season and has a lot of work to do to reach the postseason.

Saturday's kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on ABC.
