The Portland Trail Blazers will open their preseason Friday night in Seattle against the LA Clippers without several key players.

Shaedon Sharpe (shoulder), Anfernee Simons (ankle soreness), Robert Williams III (hamstring) and Matisse Thybulle (knee) are out.

Striker Deni Avdija will sit out for personal reasons.

The game marks the first NBA appearance for rookie guard Donovan Clingan, who is fighting for playing time behind starter Deandre Ayton.

This evening will also feature a first look at second-year guard Scoot Henderson. He's had a difficult rookie season, but by all accounts has made great strides in training camp.
