Jamie Carragher, a well-known figure in Liverpool history, has shared his views on Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

He believes that while Real Madrid were aiming to secure what they considered to be the best player in the world, they already had an exceptional talent in their squad: Vinicius Jr.

During a discussion on CBS Sports Golazo, Carragher, along with fellow soccer players Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, tackled the topic of potential winners of the prestigious Ballon d'Or.

Carragher made it clear that he sees Vinicius Jr. as an outstanding player for Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid thought they had bought the best player in the world (Mbappe) even though they already had the best player in the world (Vinicius). Enjoy the Ballon d'Or Vinicius”, said the Liverpool legend.

Vinicius Jr. has certainly sparked mixed opinions from fans and analysts. However, he made a strong statement in Real Madrid's recent game against Borussia Dortmund, scoring a crucial hat-trick.

This remarkable performance helped his team overturn a 2-0 deficit and ultimately lead to a 5-2 win.

As Henry reflected on the game, he shared his thoughts on Real Madrid's resilience, pointing out that such performances are typical of the club.

He pointed out that the comeback was not surprising given Real Madrid's track record in challenging situations. He pointed out that he had repeatedly experienced similar scenarios, which demonstrated the club's ability to thrive under pressure.

“I don't know why you are still surprised by Real Madrid. I've seen the first half before, I've seen the second half, I've seen this result before, over and over again, I'm surprised you're surprised,” he said.

Henry also acknowledged Vinicius Jr.'s growing importance within the team, stating that with the departure of Karim Benzema, this squad has now become Vinicius Jr.'s team.

“This is Vinicius Jr., this is his team, he is the man” he claimed.
