Prudential Center 2024-25: events calendar, dates, new menu

New Jersey Devils fans know what they want.

This year the Prudential Center was a huge success for them.

“We have listened to our fans and are committed to providing a first-class food and beverage experience for everyone who comes through The Rock,” said Dana Seiden, vice president of partnerships for the New Jersey Devils & Prudential Center.

On Monday, September 30, the Newark-based venue – ranked as one of the top five arenas in the world by Pollstar – unveiled its new menu based on the desires of the Devils faithful.

“We added some new things, we changed some things,” said chef Aaron Zaks. “I just wanted to bring in a little bit more of the coast and all the different parts of Jersey.”

Prudential Center's East Back Kitchen is Prudential Center's newly launched white label hotel brand, offering a range of delectable dishes and tasty beverages that deliver an upscale dining experience steeped in the grit, boldness and flavor, that make the Garden State so great.

And yes, I tried 11 (!) menu items (plus a cocktail to round it out).

What were the can't-miss MVPs? Any dream item pairings? Which was the most innovative?

I'm here to answer all your culinary questions and more.

Whether you're a Devils fan or want to see Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Cody Johnson, Jeff Dunham or another artist of your choice at the popular Newark Arena, here's some of the Prudential's latest dining offering Center.

Funnel Cake Fries
Available at Downtown Diner and Boardwalk, Sections 1, 118 and 126.

These lightly powdered dessert fries are simultaneously chewy and soft with a sophisticated, subtle sweetness. They somewhat resemble a waffle in frying form (but Nothing like a waffle iron) And served with syrup on the side. Word on the street is there might be a strawberry topping too. If so, we can't wait to try this roast.

Prudential Center

Chicken and waffles
Available in Section 107

An Art Nouveau classic, beautifully executed. Prudential's chicken and waffles have a nice sweet, spicy, and savory flavor profile, without any of them overpowering or overwhelming the taste buds. I have to give them points for adding syrup to the waffles instead of making this dish a ladle too. Nice touch, Prudential. See you. Thanks also for Mike's Hot Honey and chipotle mayonnaise. However, be careful, guests. Once you have one of these, you won't be able to stop.

Prudential Center

Steak sandwich

I can't lie. This was easily the undisputed MVP of the tasting, and yes, I secretly went back and drank for a few more seconds. The smoky, rich Pat LaFrieda Sando on tangy focaccia is sneakily spicy and complemented by caramelized onions and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette. Equal parts satisfying and challenging, I can't wait to pick up another one or two at a Devils game in the near future. Just take my money already.

Prudential Center

Devil dog

As all-American as it gets. Don't write him off as a normal dog, though: gentle Frank, topped with crisp coleslaw and bacon, is deceptively complex; The fusion of multiple textures creates a surprising oomph and urgency in every bite.

Prudential Center

Cheesesteak
Available at Boardwalk, Section 126

Served on a hearty dish, Prudential Center's cheesesteak has a surprising lightness to it. The thinly sliced Pat LaFrieda ribeye steak and rich cheese along with peppers and onions are an excellent addition to his bread roll. I would argue that this is the perfect replacement for those suffering from hot dog fatigue.

Prudential Center

Cheesesteak Empanada

I would call this snacker a close MVP runner-up. The artfully fried empanada will ensure you never feel like eating a cheesesteak on a hero again (apologies to the cheesesteak pictured above, we still love you, buddy). Point, Pat LaFrieda beef in a crispy crescent just tastes different. Is it almost playful? Definitely delicious. Even if you're a fair-weather empanada fan, I'd say this is an item you shouldn't miss if you're at the Prudential Center for a game or show.

Prudential Center

Taylor Ham
Available at Downtown Diner, Section 1 and 118

This is not a pork bun (in fact, it is made from freshly shredded pork bun). Like any good Taylor ham straight from the deli, this iconic breakfast staple was obviously made with love by Chef Zaks and has the perfect ratio of meat, egg and cheese to boot.

Prudential Center

Cheese pizza

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This simple classic is perfect for any picky eater in your group. To be honest, we really liked the marinara sauce that Chef Zaks used. If the Prudential Center wants to tell the world its secret ingredient (is it love? I bet it is), I'd happily buy a jar or three.

Prudential Center

Ranch House Burgers
Available from Smash by Pat LaFrieda, sections 12 and 111

Flaky challah roll and a hefty Pat LaFrieda patty? It's unbeatable. The Ranch House Burger, topped with ranch (duh), pickles, bacon jam, white cheddar and fried onions, is a maximalist treat.

Prudential Center

Chicken fingers

Hoo boy, they've got a kick. They taste incredibly spicy, like something the devil himself would eat. Thanks to the generous size, I'd estimate two fingers would fill any Devils fan. However, for those who are particularly hungry, I recommend pairing the fingers with the funnel cake fries (I already told you there would be a pairing with this). Thank you later.

Prudential Center

Chicken Tinga Tacos

Mayo-based chipotle sauce over shredded chicken and cotija cheese? Register with us. This soft taco is a nice change from the American fare on the menu (apart from the exceptional empanada) and is very tasty. I believe there is a pulled pork option too.

Prudential Center

Buchanita cocktail

To top it all off there was this tropical pineapple juice and a whiskey drink that was just right. Just like the funnel cake fries, a Buchanita in your cup should serve as the perfect partner to any Prudential Center entree.

Prudential Center

Bonus: Mighty Quinn's returns to the Prudential Center. Located in Section 4, they serve honey fried chicken, brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, and Jersey Shore dogs with gravy, as well as macaroni and cheese all season long.
