Romulus debuts on digital streaming this week

Alien: Romulus– the latest film in filmmaker Ridley Scott's iconic series Foreigner Franchise – debuts on digital streaming this week. Read on to find out when and where you can watch it at home.

It takes place between the events of Scott's original Foreigner Film and director James Cameron's 1986 sequel Aliens, Alien: Romulus follows a group of young mining colonists desperate to leave their desolate planet in search of a better future.

But what was supposed to be an hour-long mission goes horribly wrong and the crew accidentally releases hundreds of evil xenomorphs that are hibernating in the outpost.

Alvarez placed great emphasis on the film's practical visual effects

Alien: Romulus is the seventh film in the Foreigner Franchise and like the first Foreigner For the 1979 film and its sequels and prequels, director Fede Alvarez wanted to use practical visual effects throughout the film.

“Fede was very persistent and precise and said, 'Hey Aileen, the real fans will know how the organism works and that it supports your livelihood while it does its job,'” Wu said. “So when you breathe in, it gives you air, and when you breathe out, it takes air out of you.” Since I couldn't see anything, only felt it – and so much was hitting the floor violently – it took a while until I really nailed the scene.”

The film's reception at the box office shows that Wu, Alvarez and their fellow cast and crew did everything right.
