Scottish DJ Jackmaster dies after sustaining a head injury in Ibiza

Scottish DJ and producer Jack Revill, known as Jackmaster, has died in Ibiza as a result of a head injury.

Revill, 38, died Saturday morning as a result of an “accidental head injury,” his family said.

They added that they were “deeply heartbroken” by the “devastating” loss.

The Glasgow DJ has played in some of the most famous clubs and festivals around the world and co-founded the Numbers record label.

A statement from his family said: “It is with deep sadness that we confirm the untimely death of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster.”

“Jack tragically died in Ibiza on the morning of October 12th as a result of an accidental head injury.

“His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are deeply heartbroken.

“While the family is deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues and fans, they kindly request privacy as they cope with the immense sadness of this devastating loss.”

Revill was born in Glasgow, worked at the well-known Glasgow record store Rubadub and later co-founded the Numbers record label.

He had recently released the single Nitro with Kid Enigma and told music magazine Electronic Groove: “It was about feeling hyped and inspired in the club.”

“Unfortunately, such moments are rare these days. I think the phones and people not dancing are responsible for that.”

“I'm so grateful to my fans, but I got into music because I love dancing. It’s a lost art form at the moment I think.”

In 2018, he apologized following an incident at the Love Saves the Day music festival in Bristol after admitting he had behaved “inappropriately and offensively towards staff at the event while heavily intoxicated”.

Electronic duo Disclosure were among those who paid tribute, write on Instagram: “I can’t believe this. heart broken. Thanks for all the great memories and inspiration, Jack. This is just terrible, terrible.”

A post from DU duo CamelPhat's official Instagram account on Revill's Instagram page said: “I can't believe what I'm reading… in an industry full of egos, you were hands down one of the nicest guys we've ever met. “Our thoughts are with family and friends
