The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7, but may have lost one of their key offensive players in the process.

During the contest, DK Metcalf suffered a knee injury late in the third quarter. The veteran receiver was carted to the locker room because of the problem.

Here's what you should know about Metcalf's injury and his moving forward status.

DK Metcalf injury update

The Seahawks announced that Metcalf is “questionable” to return for their Week 7 contest against the Atlanta Falcons due to a knee injury.

Metcalf's final snap of the game came with 17 seconds left in the third quarter when he attempted to make a catch down the sideline but was hit hard by Falcons safety Justin Simmons. The veteran winger managed to get to the sideline on his own, but mostly sat on the Seattle medical staff's bench.

Metcalf was eventually seen attempting to run to the sideline, but shook his head to indicate he couldn't. Shortly afterwards he was carted into the locker room with a dejected look.

The Seahawks led by 17 when Metcalf was taken to the locker room with 7:15 to play. Despite his “questionable” label, he never returned to the game.

Jake Bobo is the Seahawks' No. 4 receiver and served as Metcalf's top backup throughout the season. The 6-4, 207-pound receiver went undrafted in 2023 but has quickly developed into a solid player for the Seahawks.

Bobo entered Sunday's game with eight catches and 66 yards on the 2024 season. He has a total of 27 catches for 262 yards and two touchdowns in his career.

Bobo would likely see more action if Metcalf's injury causes him to miss at some point. Dareke Young and Laviska Shenault would be the other candidates to get more snaps, while Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba would absorb some of Metcalf's targets.

Metcalf caught four of seven targets for 99 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons before being sidelined due to his injury. The sixth-year receiver entered Week 7 with 31 catches for 469 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
