Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith upset Panthers over latest Bryce Young move: “The worst.”

The Carolina Panthers have made a number of missteps at the quarterback position, starting with sidelining Kyle Allen for 12 starts when Cam Newton was sidelined in 2019. From then on, they gave Teddy Bridgewater a big contract, but gave him up after one year. Next, they traded a boatload of draft capital for Sam Darnold, who lasted just 17 games. They also moved on from Baker Mayfield only to see him thrive this year in Tampa and Darnold play in Minnesota.

The latest move at quarterback caused another headache. It happened last weekend when the Panthers used Bryce Young against the Chicago Bears, when the outcome had already been decided and it had become clear that the injury-depleted offensive line couldn't protect Andy Dalton.

Instead of leaving their 36-year-old backup on the field, they went with the former number one overall pick. That was enough to anger Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe. Here's what they had to say about head coach Dave Canales' decision to bring Young back out in this situation.
