Shivam Dube is ruled out of the India-Bangladesh T20I series due to a back injury, with Tilak Varma named as a replacement

NEW DELHI: The Indian team's star all-rounder suffered a major blow on Saturday Shivam Dube was ruled out of the entire T20I series against Bangladesh due to a back injury.
The three-match T20I series begins in Gwalior on Sunday and Dube's injury is a setback for the team.
In a social media post, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Dube will not be available for the three-match series and named another left-hander Tilak Varma as his replacement.
“All-rounder Shivam Dube is out of the three-match T20I series due to a back injury. The Senior Selection Committee has named Tilak Varma as Shivam's replacement. Tilak will return to the squad on Sunday morning in Gwalior,” BCCI said in a release.

Dube has played 33 T20Is for India so far, scoring 448 runs and taking 11 wickets.
Dube's back injury is believed to have resurfaced during training in Mumbai before the start of the Bangladesh series and when he came to Gwalior, the pain did not subside and he felt unwell during training.
The 21-year-old Tilak has played 16 T20Is for India in which he scored 336 runs and took a few wickets with his slow bowling.
The MI star was recently injured and was not selected for the T20Is in Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka.
