When the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, the team's rookie first-rounder Jared McCain suffered a bad fall.

McCain was immediately treated by team doctors as he lay on his back in pain. Although it was clear that the rookie was in a lot of pain, he managed to get up and walk back to the team's locker room.

Since the game took place in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, McCain did not play again. His future status is unclear.

McCain was substituted for 23 minutes on Wednesday evening. With a shorthanded lineup missing Joel Embiid, Paul George and Kyle Lowry, McCain picked up some early minutes in the first quarter.

The rookie shot ten times from the field on Wednesday evening. Six of those shots came from beyond the arc. He finished the game with nine points in the scoring.

McCain also collected seven rebounds on the glass and dished out two assists. He had problems losing the ball and lost the ball five times.

While McCain's performance against the Nets was underwhelming, he was one of the Sixers' most notable players in his first preseason run.

The rookie completed 42 percent of his shots on six attempts per game and hit 35 percent of his three-pointers. In addition to scoring in the preseason, McCain also averaged four rebounds and two assists.

The Sixers will visit the Orlando Magic on Friday night for their preseason finale. It is unclear whether McCain will be available for the event. Once the 76ers complete the Magic matchup, they return home next Wednesday for their regular season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks.
