Spread and over/under predictions for the Panthers' Week 6 home game against Atlanta

Spread and over/under predictions for the Panthers' Week 6 home game against Atlanta

With the season on the line, the Carolina Panthers absolutely need a win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. If that doesn't happen, much of the discussion surrounding this team will focus on next year's draft rather than the final 11 games of the season.

So will the Panthers get back on track today? Here are my picks for this week’s matchup.

1 Star – Not very confident
2 stars – A little confident
3 stars – Pretty confident
4 stars – Very confident
5 stars – Should be a lock

Falcons 3-Star Play (-6.5): For a moment, the Panthers looked like a contending football team that would make some noise after the QB switch from Bryce Young to Andy Dalton. Last week in Chicago was a huge step in the wrong direction and with injuries piling up, it seems like things are on the verge of spiraling out of control again in Carolina.

Atlanta has played really good football the last four games and comes into this game off the back of two division wins against New Orleans and Tampa. Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards in last week's overtime win and should have a really favorable matchup this week against a struggling Panthers secondary.

1-star game in the over: The Panthers' defense ranks last in the NFL and even scores 33 points per game. With several key cogs in the front seven, I don't see how Ejiro Evero will be able to stop this Falcons offensive attack. If Andy Dalton and the Carolina offense get back on their feet and just have an average day, this game will finish over the point total. I hesitate to put so much faith in this happening, so the piece lacks power.
