Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick injured vs. Raiders (Updates)

UPDATE, 5:17 p.m.: According to Burt Lauten, the Steelers' senior communications director, Fitzpatrick is expected to return to the game after an evaluation of his shoulder.

UPDATE, 5:15 p.m.: According to The Athletic's Mike DeFabo, trainers work on Fitzpatrick's shoulder/neck area with a massage gun.

In a defense that was already broken across the board, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw another piece go down, this time to safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick was crippled on a throw to tight end Harrison Bryant on a play in the second quarter and suffered a knee on the Las Vegas Raiders sideline. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin came all the way across the field to check on Fitzpatrick, who ran away under his own power and went into the blue tent.

It appears that Fitzpatrick injured his right arm/shoulder during the game and was seen shaking his arm as he left the field.

The Steelers already had a safety going into the game, as veteran Damontae Kazee was sidelined earlier in the week with an ankle injury he suffered during warmups against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 on Sunday Night Football.

Two plays after Fitzpatrick left with an injury, the Steelers forced a fumble when TJ Watt knocked the ball out from Raiders RB Dylan Laube, leading to a recovery by nose tackle Keeanu Benton.

After being in the blue tent to get checked out, Fitzpatrick was seen sitting on the bench and talking with Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and special teams coordinator Danny Smith, according to a tweet from Brooke Pryor from ESPN emerges.
