Steelers security tags for head coach “Osama Bin Tomlin” before games against New York teams

Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott posted an image on social media Monday that appeared to combine the faces of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.

Elliott posted an image of a person with a gray and black beard and a white headdress in an Instagram slideshow with the caption “Osama bin Tomlin.”

Security confirmed to an Instagram user that the picture was of his head coach, writing, “It's really him, he's been over 20.” Some other users commented that the NFL would punish Elliott for the post.

He responded to Patrick Queen, his linebacker teammate who wrote “bruh,” with a laughing emoji, writing, “I'm so confused about what the fans are talking about, I just thought the picture was funny.”

The post shows that a user named “Najee Harris Lover,” referring to a Steelers running back, originally posted the image. The user tagged Elliott, Queen, Harris and the team account.

Pittsburgh plays the New York Jets next Sunday and the New York Giants on October 28th. The Steelers won their last game against the Las Vegas Raiders 32-13.

Neither Burt Lauten, the Steelers' senior communications director, nor David Mulugheta, Elliott's agent, responded to requests for comment from The National News Desk.
