The Cleveland Guardians overcame a 2-1 deficit in the American League Division Series against the Detroit Tigers to win the series in Game 5 on Saturday.

The two wins were aided by their All-Star outfielder Steven Kwan, who was red hot in the series.

Kwan scored 11 hits in the series and became part of Major League Baseball history in the process.

According to MLB Network on “X,” Kwan is just the third player in MLB history to record more than three hits in three consecutive postseason games.

Kwan's series stats include 11 hits in 21 at-bats with 1 double, 6 runs scored, 1 stolen base, 2 walks and an on-base plus slugging percentage of 1.137.

He scored 3 goals in Games 3, 4 and 5 and joined Tim Anderson and Lou Brock in scoring 3 goals in 3 consecutive playoff games.

In the regular season, Kwan batted .292 with 14 home runs, 44 runs batted in and an on-base plus slugging percentage of .793.

Playoff teams want their players to peak at the right time, and that's exactly what Kwan is doing so far.

The Guardians will likely need to make some runs in the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees if they want to advance to the World Series.

This all starts with Kwan sitting at the top of the rankings as he hopes to continue his hot streak into the postseason.

The Guardians' first American League Championship Series since 2016 begins on Monday.
