Sydney Sweeney shows off brown hair and biceps from boxing biopic

Sydney Sweeney sports a new look.

The euphoria The star revealed her new style in an Instagram post from the set of an upcoming Christy Martin boxing biopic. “Well the cats are out of the bag thanks to some bushes in the bushes so here are some BTS from my movie I'm working on,” Sweeney wrote, revealing a picture of herself with brown, frizzy bangs and another Image of herself flexing her biceps in 90s workout clothes.

Sweeney said she worked hard to achieve her transformation. “Over the past few months, I have been training intensively to bring to life the story of an incredible woman – a true champion who fought battles both in and out of the ring,” she wrote. “Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength and hope, and I am honored to follow in her footsteps and share her powerful story with all of you. More to come soon.”

Martin is one of the most prominent female boxers in the history of the sport, recording 49 wins, seven losses and three draws in a career that spanned from 1989 to 2012. However, her personal life may be even more dramatic than her professional successes: in 1991 she married for the first time her trainer Jim Martin, who tried to murder her in her home in 2010. He was eventually found guilty of attempted second-degree murder, and the athlete is now married to fellow boxer Lisa Holewyne.

Sweeney's Martin biopic is directed by David Michôd, the Australian filmmaker behind projects like wildlife with Ben Mendelsohn, The Rover with Robert Pattinson, war machine with Brad Pitt and The king with Timothée Chalamet. Ben Foster will also star in the biopic, which does not yet have an official title (Leave no trace), Merritt Wever (Marriage story), Katy O'Brian (Love lies bleeding) and Ethan Embry (Grace and Frankie).

Sweeney is currently in the midst of an impressive slate of notable projects. After her critically acclaimed role in the docudrama reality and the runaway success of the romantic comedy Everyone but you In 2023, the actress played a supporting role in Sony's superhero oddity Madam Web and headlined the indie horror film Immaculate this year.

The actress will next star in Ron Howard's survival thriller Edenwhich premiered at TIFF last month alongside Ana de Armas, Jude Law and Vanessa Kirby and also features a family drama Echo Valley with Julianne Moore on the horizon. And euphoriaProduction on the long-delayed third season is currently scheduled to begin in January.
