Taylor Swift fans flock to South Florida, 3-show weekend

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida. – Fans lined up at Hard Rock Stadium days in advance to get their hands on Taylor Swift merchandise ahead of her highly anticipated shows this weekend.

Local 10 News reporter Annaliese Garcia was at the stadium Thursday, where some fans have been waiting since Wednesday to get their hands on exclusive items like crewnecks, tote bags and shirts. Crews were busy transforming the stadium into a wonderland for the concerts, which began with Friday night's show.

It's a big weekend for Swifties in South Florida, as the pop icon hasn't performed here since 2018 during her “Reputation” tour.

The excitement is palpable as fans prepare for Swift's latest “Eras” tour, which has taken the world by storm.

Companies like Miami-based Night Owl Cookies are also getting in on the Swiftmania, creating themed treats inspired by some of Swift's most popular albums, including “Reputation,” “Midnights” and “Lover.”

“We created cookies representing my favorite albums of hers and they sold out in less than an hour last time,” said a rep for Night Owl Cookies.

In Brickell, Rosa Sky is hosting a rooftop Taylor Swift tribute party with signature cocktails like the Feeling 22 and Lavender Haze. The venue was redecorated for the occasion with disco balls and Swift-style decor.

For those who want to connect with other Swifties, there's now an app for that.

As demand for tickets to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour remains high, some lucky shoppers lined up at the new H&M store in Brickell City Center to win gift cards and tour tickets at the store's grand opening.

On Friday, Local 10's Joseph Ojo spoke with fans who traveled from Colorado to see their favorite singer in person.

Meanwhile, Miami-Dade Police have announced road closures around Hard Rock Stadium. Northwest 199th Street between Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 14th Court as well as the Turnpike 2X on-ramp and off-ramp will be closed.

The closures will begin on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and again from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday the closures apply from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m

With three consecutive shows starting Friday, Swift's South Florida fans are in for a weekend to remember as the final leg of her international Eras Tour begins.
