Taylor Swift rubs Brittany Mahomes' pregnant belly after supporting Harris

Brittany Mahomes' baby bump was touched by Taylor Swift's hand.

Mahomes is pregnant with her third child with NFL star Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback's wife posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday showing Swift rubbing her pregnant belly. The photo was taken at the Chiefs' game against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.

“Same girls, new belly,” the post’s caption read.

It was the first time Mahomes and Swift were seen together at a Chiefs game this season.

It was also the first time the couple had ever been seen together since Swift publicly supported Vice President Kamala Harris on September 10.

Swift did not list a specific political stance for her support of Harris in her Instagram post. However, Swift has advocated for abortion, LGBT rights and gun control in several interviews in the past, including one with The Guardian in 2019 when she said she believed in telling people who to vote for, even though she didn't watch the news for her “mental health.”

Swift has previously supported Democratic candidates since 2018, when she supported Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper in the 2018 US midterm elections in Tennessee.

Swift's support for Harris sparked a loud reaction from former President Trump, whom Mahomes has reportedly supported. Trump posted a message on his Truth Social platform on Sept. 15 that read “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” and in an interview with “FOX & Friends” on Sept. 11, the former president said he “liked Mahomes a lot better.” as Swift.

As of Monday night, Swift had not been seen in the same room as Mahomes since they hugged at the US Open men's singles final on September 9.

Mahomes has been linked to several shows of support for Trump through social media activity since mid-August.

It started with a simple Instagram like from Trump's 2024 political platform on August 13th. Similar images quickly spread across social media channels, sparking such intense backlash that the pregnant mother released further statements to defend herself and her beliefs. Mahomes later liked a comment on one of her Instagram posts that read, “TRUMP-VANCE 2024.”

Several online Swift fan pages helped spread screenshots of Mahomes' initial sympathy for Trump's political platform, sparking much of the backlash against Swift's friend.

Mahomes' husband Patrick defended and praised her political influence after Trump praised her to Swift on September 11th.

“I think you can see that Brittany does a lot in the community,” the 28-year-old quarterback said. “I do a lot in the community to help educate people and empower them to use their voice,” he said. “In political times, people will use things here and there, but I can't let that affect the way I go about my business every single day of my life and try to live it to the best of my ability.”

Patrick said he himself wouldn't support a political candidate, but he encouraged Americans to do what's right for “their families.”

“Ultimately it’s about me and my family and how we treat other people,” he said.

Brittany and Patrick were born and raised in East Texas and began dating while attending Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, a town of about 8,500 that has historically voted Republican, according to Data USA. The couple married in March 2022 and have two children, three-year-old daughter Sterling Skye and one-year-old son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

Shortly after the investigation began into whether Brittany liked Trump's Instagram content, Patrick wished her a happy birthday on August 31.

On a recent episode of the “Whoop” podcast, Brittany said she relied on her three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback husband to get through the recent public scrutiny.

“It helped me a lot that he helped me get through this because he's very good at dealing with these things and tuning people out and doing all those things,” she said. “It helped a lot to have him by my side and kind of accompany me and coach me. I think we’ve gotten to the point where we are now.”

“I think the biggest thing he always told me is, 'Stop caring what people think, especially people who don't even know you,'” she said. “So I think I used to really care about social media, and now I honestly don’t care what people say about me.”

Meanwhile, Swift's friend and Patrick's teammate Travis Kelce has also not spoken out in support of the upcoming election, nor has he commented on her or his own political stance since Swift's endorsement.
