The fire danger is increasing, rain is unlikely during the week

The small chance of rain in some areas of the Bay Area this week is now virtually non-existent, the National Weather Service said Tuesday.

At the same time, the agency said the more likely possibility that dangerous fire conditions could develop has become a certainty.

Neither scenario will mean warmer weather.
